Read like a travel brochure or a junior high research paper, not bad but didn't tell much about the backstories of the hauntings. According to this book, female ghosts all wear gossamer white gowns, good to know for your next ghost hunt.
Haunted Georgia Ghost Stories and Paranormal Activity from the State of Georgia was a fun read. Filled with ghost stories, legends, and fun facts about various sites in Georgia, this book works as a practical guide for visiting Georgia's famous areas as well as a key to the folklore of the state. I found myself laughing at some stories (all these women throwing themselves off balconies because of unfaithful husbands...honestly?) and truly horrified at others (a church full of dead people?!). As a current resident of Georgia, I found this book to be both entertaining as well as informative, teaching me things about Savannah and Athens and Atlanta that I never knew. I even recognized some of the areas depicted. Giving addresses and counties so that ghost hunters can find every area easily, this book shows you were all the good haunts are. There are more, as the book suggests, but this gives you just enough of a taste so as not to scare you away from Georgia, but to keep looking over your shoulder a little more often.
Overall the book was fairly good, the stories were interesting and enough history was given to add to the stories. The biggest downfall were the grammar and sentence errors that made some pages difficult to understand. Thankfully there were not a ton of those and most stories were easy to read.
I love ghost stories especially when they are talking about actual places. this one was really good made you want to go visit these places for yourself and see if anything happens. I love history so this just made me love history more.

This was a fun, easy read with lots of information on (supposedly....) haunted locations in my home state of Georgia. I am a horror film and paranormal fanatic since childhood and I love to go see creepy old buildings and hotspots of the weird. I took my family on one of the Savannah Ga haunted walking tours just last summer, and I can tell you that this book contains all the same information and locations we saw on the tour. You may be able to navigate it yourself and save the 50$. I've been to Oakland Cemetery in East Atlanta many times, but was stoked to see that there is a hotspot just around the bend from me in Marietta. Can't wait to go take a look. If you are an aficionado of the X-Filia, this is a great primer for the state of Georgia.
