This book is very strange. The author talks about finding herself, and being a modern hippie. Yet, she relies so heavily on religion, and other people's teachings to show her who she is. To me, that is the antithesis of being a modern hippie. Not at all what I was expecting, also was totally turned off by the religious (read christian) bent of this book. Didn't finish it, as it was just too weird!Product details

This book reached me at just the right time. I love her line- "Every pound lost is another pound of spirit gained." I hope I'm quoting her exactly, but guess you can read the book to check to see if I'm right )
The book was important to foundational peace and understanding of ones self. I will be reading other books to build off of this one because I’m on a journey. This book is a great start to spiritual enlightenment and is worth the read. U will do plenty of highlighting and note taking.
Kim Kinglsey provides another useful counseling tool! This book teaches clients how to let go of unhealthy habits and relationships. Kim's therapist voice is a gentle, merciful one that doesn't leave the client feeling guilt or shame. Her chapter "Finding Your Free Weight" is a new and necessary philosophy for those struggling with eating disorders. I recommend this book to clients who are battling any addiction or who just want to be emotionally strong and free from a negative mindset. She shares how to find freedom and happiness spiritually, physically and emotionally. It is a great read for those wanting to find peace and their higher self.
Kimberly Kingsley is spot on in her approach to life! This book is amazing, it totally resonated with me, now if I only can follow her lead) So many things I struggle with and fight against, instead of letting them flow through me, like most people, I guess, but bridging the gap between what I know and what I do isn't easy...I am definitely a work in progress and this book is a great tool to help me along my journey!
I had the book for months, maybe a year. I skimmed it as soon as I got it, but put it down. On a recent flight I started reading it. Now I see I just wasn't ready before now. I have already recommended this book to a few friends, but now will buy some to share. I laughed, I cried, I paused to pray. Kim Kingsley is a gem and a sweet soul. Someone once thought she was my sister in a photo, I think they saw what I feel. Thanks so much for the boost onto my spiritual surfboard!
'Modern Hippie' inspired me to take a deeper look at my own relationship with spirit. I was in a time of great personal transformation, and I knew I needed to refresh and update my own ways of seeing myself as a spiritual being. Reading Kingsley's wonderful book helped me become more present with myself, and find a fresh perspective. Besides all this serious sounding stuff, it was a fun joyful read. Thank you, Kimberly, for sharing your story and brilliance!
With deep authenticity, wisdom, and wonderful ability to tell a good story, Kimberly Kingsley takes you on her journey of spiritual evolution. Using the metaphor of the "modern hippie," she guides the reader not only through the story of her own life, but through the Hero's journey into spiritual and emotional freedom. I think almost anyone who was raised with "should's, cant's, must haves," etc. will love her heartfelt and beautiful work!
